Contemporary folk art, outsider art, fine art, funky art and pop art from North America.
We opened Yard Dog Gallery in Austin, TX, in September 1995. While the gallery’s roots are in old-school folk and outsider art from North America, especially the Deep South, we also show art by many contemporary artists whose backgrounds run the gamut from self-taught to art school graduate.
Inventory
Our entire inventory is not on our website. Please feel free to email or call us to ask if we have more work available by an artist.
Availability
Every piece of art displayed on our website is also available in our gallery. While we make every effort to keep the inventory on our website up-to-the-minute, it is always possible that a piece of art will remain on our site for a short period after it is sold from the gallery. In the unlikely event that you purchase a piece from our website that is no longer available, we will cancel the transaction and you will not be charged.
Payment
In the gallery we accept checks, money orders, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover. Here on our website we accept Mastercard, Visa & PayPal. If you wish to pay with American Express, a check or money order or would rather give us your credit card info over the phone, please select “Manual Payment” when checking out.
Your payment will not be processed until we have checked out the details and approved it on our end. We reserve the right to cancel any order before final processing.
Shipping
There is a ground shipping charge for each item that appears on the checkout page. When two items are ordered, you will only be charged the higher of the two charges. International shipping charges shown on our site are approximate. Once you have placed your order, we will calculate the exact charges based on your address and contact you for your approval before we process the transaction.
Returns
You may return anything within 14 days for a full refund of the price of the art. After 14 days you may return art for gallery credit. No returns after 14 days. The art must be in original condition and you must pay shipping charges.
Layaway
Our usual terms are 1/4 down, 1/4 per month, although we can sometimes be flexible. If you want to pay for something on layaway you’ll need to contact us directly about it.
Artist Submissions
We choose artists whose work we think fits well with the work we’re already showing and with whom we want to have a long-term relationship. We do love to look at new art and we check out every submission we get, but we’re pretty cautious about it and don’t add new artists very often. And because the internet makes it so easy, we get a lot of submissions. So feel free to email or snail mail submissions — either jpegs or a link to your site will do — just be warned: we try to respond to them all, eventually, but we can’t promise that we will. Finally, please note that we only accept photo submissions. Please don’t bring your art to the gallery. Email your submissions to gallery@yarddog.com. Thanks!
Privacy
The Yard Dog website does not sell, rent, trade, or divulge any information about its visitors to third parties. Any information collected is for the sole purpose of conducting business or contacting customers in relation to Yard Dog business. The Yard Dog website will not send unsolicited e-mail to our visitors.
