Fine art, folk art & outsider art from North America

We opened Yard Dog Gallery in Austin, TX, in September 1995.  The gallery's roots are in folk and outsider art from North America, especially the Deep South, but we show art by many contemporary artists who work in a folky, funky vernacular. The art we show is maximalist: colorful, edgy, representational.

Inventory

Our entire inventory is not on our website. Please feel free to email or call us to ask if we have more work available by an artist.

 

Availability

Every piece of art displayed on our website is also available in our gallery. While we make every effort to keep the inventory on our website up-to-the-minute, it is always possible that a piece of art will remain on our site for a short period after it is sold from the gallery. In the unlikely event that you purchase a piece from our website that is no longer available, we will immediately issue you a full refund.

 

Payment

We accept checks, money orders, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover and PayPal. If you wish to pay with a check or money order, please contact us first via e-mail or telephone.

 

Shipping

There is a ground shipping charge for each item that appears on the checkout page. When two items are ordered, you will only be charged the higher of the two charges. International shipping charges shown on our site are approximate.  Once you have placed your order, we will calculate the exact charges based on your address and contact you for your approval before we process the transaction.

 

Returns

You may return anything within 14 days for a full refund of the price of the art. After 14 days you may return art for gallery credit. No returns after 14 days. The art must be in original condition and you must pay shipping charges.

 

Layaway

Our usual terms are 1/4 down, 1/4 per month, although we can sometimes be flexible. If you want to pay for something on layaway you’ll need to contact us directly about it.

 

Artist Submissions

We choose artists whose work we think fits well with the work we're already showing and with whom we want to have a long-term relationship.   We're pretty cautious about it and don't add new artists very often.  And because the internet makes it so easy, we get a lot of submissions.  So feel free to email or snail mail submissions, just be warned:  we try to respond to them all, eventually, but we can’t promise that we will.

 

Privacy

The Yard Dog website does not sell, rent, trade, or divulge any information about its visitors to third parties. Any information collected is for the sole purpose of conducting business or contacting customers in relation to Yard Dog business. The Yard Dog website will not send unsolicited e-mail to our visitors.
