Bertha Halozan was an Austrian-born painter and resident of NYC. She emigrated in 1956 and began painting in 1979, after a stroke, and mostly devoted herself to paintings of the Statue of Liberty. Each of them featured the same text: "We love Statue of Liberty there are still some good people living in this world." She also always marked the Statue with an incorrect completion date: "10-1889" (it was actually completed in 1886). To the back side of her paintings, which she framed herself, Ms Halozan always pasted photocopies of press clippings and her business card. She passed away in 2004.
