Jad Fair is an Austin musician, singer, and visual artist, best known as the co-founder, along with his brother David, of the lo-fi, experimental rock band Half Japanese. He's had a prolific solo career as well as collaborations with Daniel Johnston, Yo La Tengo, and Teenage Fanclub. Jad is also a prolific artist, creating fun, whimsical paper cuttings and drawings.
Yard Dog first showed Jad's paper cutting art in 2001, and we've put on quite a number of shows of his work over the years. This time around we’ll be showing 36 new paper cuttings. He and his band will also perform a set of music at the opening.
Jad will be moving away from Austin soon and this is his final show in Austin before he leaves.
