    • Bend, Oregon painter John Bell has a lifelong background in car design and movie art, working at George Lucas' Industrial Light And Magic as a visual effects Art Director. His work at ILM contributed to numerous landmark special effects films including Back to the Future II & III, Jurassic Park, and many others. He has received numerous awards for his work in film including an Academy Award nomination and BAFTA. 

    In 2018 he began a series of paintings based on the plant and landscapes of the Southwest, naming that ongoing series ‘Planet Life’.

    Currently we're showing works from a new series of Pueblo paintings, where John has turned his mid-century eye on the pueblo architecture of the Southwest.
