Dave "Big Dutch" Nally was born in 1960 in Reading, PA, where he still lives. He's a self-taught artist who's been making art, he says, since he could hold a crayon. His stream-of-consciousness drawings are dense, complex, and very funny, full of social and political commentary. For many years he made a living as a steelworker and made his art at night, after work. He's retired now, but still signs his work "Big Dutch," which was his steel mill nickname.
